I’ve spent most of my adult life studying how people think and perform when the stakes are high.
That began in sport. I played professional lacrosse and was a top-10 Major League Lacrosse draft pick. For the past 15 years, I’ve worked one-on-one with founders, CEOs, investors, professional athletes, and people carrying unusual levels of responsibility.
The longer I’ve done this work, the less interested I’ve become in formulas and the more interested I’ve become in the person. How they think. What they avoid. Where their judgment is unusually good. Where they get in their own way. What they actually want to create with their lives.
That same curiosity has taken me through more than 400 conversations on What Got You There Podcast, three books, and thousands of hours reading across business, investing, psychology, philosophy, biography, and performance.
I still consider myself a student.
I listen closely. I ask a lot of questions. I pay attention to patterns, contradictions, and the things that are easy to miss when you’re in the middle of your own life. After 15 years of doing this, I’ve learned that the better I understand the person, the more useful I can be when it matters.
